At the end of the day, thin women are skinny because they manage to burn up all the calories they take in. There are reasons why this happens. They have lesser fat, meaning they bum calories more efficiently. Fat burn calories slower than muscle do.

Thin women generally have plenty of energy because they don’t have extra weight to slow them down. And, of course, active people bum more calories than sedentary ones.

Eat less exercise more

The number-one rule of weight control never changes. If you take in more calories than you expend, you are going to gain weight. Every 3,500 calories that sit unused inside your body turn into another pound of you.

Conversely, to shed a pound, you have to burn extra 3,500 calories. Exercise, particularly aerobic exercise, gobbles up calories, and continues to do so for hours after you stop, says Dr. Moore.

If you want to lose weight, you might have to step up your exercise goal. Thirty minutes a day is excellent for heart health and weight maintenance, but experts say that achieving weight loss primarily through exercise requires an hour a day. Depending on the intensity, you can burn up to 7 calories a minute through exercise.

Swing your arms. Intense exercise, however, is not for the overweight and out of shape. However, it is something you can work toward as you get thinner. Walk, stay active, and burn extra calories a little at a time.

For example, carrying two-pound weights and swinging your arms while walking burns 5 percent more calories. Sitting burns more calories per hour than lying down, and standing burns more calories than sitting.

Do some mental arithmetic. Figure out how your average day plays out in terms of your activities and compares it to your food intake. Start walking more and increase your activity level gradually. Cut back on your eating gradually. Forget the fast food and the processed food. Instead, relax and enjoy a healthy meal of fresh foods. That’s what thin women do.

Exercise and Hunger
A study has now proven what women already know: Exercise makes us eat more. Though previous studies show that high-intensity exercise dampens your craving, a study at the University of Ottawa found the opposite is true for women. The researchers found that women who worked out strenuously consumed more food than women who mildly exercise and those who didn’t exercise at all.

The bottom line? Exercise is worth doing. It is just not worthwhile overdoing. Moderation rules.
